Researching: RIPPL, RIPPEL
I am searching for information about the following individuals (the
information below is copied verbatim from Leo Baca's "Czech Immigration
Passenger Lists, Vol. VII" published in 1998):
Rippel, Franz 46, Anna 40, Marie 13, Wolfgang 11, Franz 10, Anna 8,
Therese 3, Clara 3/4, Bohemia; Ems, 29 March 1892; Wisconsin.
I believe the spelling of the surname to be incorrect. Our name has
always been spelled Rippl, without any Es. Franz/Frank is my
great-great grandfather. He and his family eventually settled in
Menasha, Winnebago County, Wisconsin. It is my understanding that they
came from a village in Bohemia named "Grun" or "Gruen." Any information
about where this village was in 1892 and whether or not it exists in any
form today would be most appreciated.Thank you!

Annie before her death sometime in the 1890s. Andre remarried to a woman by
the maiden name of Nemecek and they had a daughter, Pauline, together. I

Researching: WEDDERBURN
James Wedderburn m. Janet Berry and had three sons James, John and Robert,
as well as other issue. These three brothers were amongst the earliest
Scottish reformers, having united to produce the famous 'Gude and Godlie
Ballates, or 'Wedderburn Psalms. The eldest son, James had two sons, John
and James. John settled as a physician in Moravia, and left issue, whose
descendants are believed to be still flourishing on the Continent, under the
name Wetterborn." This is an extract from an 1896 publication "The Wedderburn Book",
suggesting that a Moravian branch of the family may still have existed at
that time. I would be very grateful for any suggestions as to how best to go about
researching Wetterborn genealogy in the Czech Republic. Visit

My G-grandfather came to America with his parents and eight brothers and sisters
between 1878 and 1882 settling in Nebraska. They settled in the Counties of Valley or
Howard (I think Howard). My G-grandfather was b.22 March 1869 in Bohemia, Czechoslovakia.
He married to Barbara Moravec b. 17 March 1873-4 on 29 October 1892 at St. Paul,
Nebraska with the Honorable Judge J.R. Horton presiding. The marriage license states
that his parents are John and Dora or Dova Jarash. Her parent is John Moravec no mother
listed. My family has always maintained that his mothers name was Therese and the
1900 census bears that out. I know Barbara had at least one sister Mary who married
Frank Jolley. I believe she had two brothers one Frank the other William. I would
appreciate any help you can give me in tracing esp. the Svoboda lines brothers and
sisters and confirmation of parents identity. I would so like any information available
on the Moravecs and Jares. Thank you so much.
