My great grandfather Henri Banyovitz (naturalized to Banovic), a tailor from Sassin, Hungary, arrived in New York on May 23rd, 1903 aboard the S.S. Batavia of the Hamburg-American Line. Looking for descendents of Eva Wolk (Wilk) and John Senchisn (Senchisin) (1st husband) and/or Alec (Alek) Byknish (Bicanik - Byknich - Bicanich - Bycknish) 2nd husband. My grandfather was named Andrew Ferencik. I do not know what town he came from, only from Slovakia. I understand he was an only child and came to America around 1915 or so to Cleveland Ohio. He married Mary in about 1916 and had children; Matilda, (deceased), Andrew Jr., Luther, Evelyn, Elenor, Melvin, and Betty. I believe two other children died before they reached 10 years of age.

Searching for family of Josef Mrasz or Mraz from Novaveska Huta, near Spisska Nove Ves in Slovakia. Josef born April 23, 1874, died in America, November, 1940 at age 66. Married Anna Brosko in Spisska Nova Ves in 1899 and came to USA. All records lost in home fire when family homesteaded in Lugerville, near Phillips, Wisconsin. Peter Emerick and I'm looking for any information on Emericks from Pilhov Slovakia. My grandfather John J. Emerick was born 07/22/1898 in that area. He came to the states in approx. 1908. His fathers name was Michael Emerick Sr. He was married to Anna Patrilak. Researching: HORVATHY
My family's origin village was "Chorvatice", wich is today in Slovakia near Zvolen. In this time lives cca. 50-60 Horvathy-s in Hungary (i.e. it's a very rare name), but I cannot find relatives in Slovakia. Researching: BESKID
My family supposedly comes from a village named Yakubyani (that is an English spelling.) It was somewhere near Stara Lubovna. I am assuming the name comes from the West Beskids and East Beskids mountain chains within the Carpathian mountains which border southern Poland and northern Czechoslovakia. Mr great grandfather Beskid came to America and after arriving in Pittsburgh, PA went to work in the coal mines of Ernest, PA near Indiana, PA. I believe there are still relatives in that area. Can anyone tell me more about this area in Europe?

I am looking for my grandfathers last name and any info I can find out about him, his last name was Stulyak. it might have been spelled Stuyak or Stulyak. He left Czechoslavakia in 1898 from Bremen to USA, they might have had a stop in Liverpool England. we were contacted by more Stulocks in England, his name was misspelled by the harboemaster from Stulyak( or Stuyak) to Stulock. Searching Blizman Ancestors. Andrew Blizman and wife Barbara ( Andrew possibly a judge) from Austria, Hungary. Son Joseph born in 1868 married and had two sons Andrew and Joseph. Joseph's first wife died and he left his children with his parents and emigrated to America in 1902. Young Andrew born in 1889, emigrated to America in 1906 Young Joseph married and had a family in Hungary. Came to America for a short time, returned to Hungary. He was in military service and was killed in the Hungarian Revolution. Any help researching this family would be appreciated.

My great grandparents were born in Lelesz, Hungary in either 1860 or 1870's. Lelesz Hungary later became Leles, Slovakia. Tebey was changed to Fobey when he imigrated, I don't know why. His wife was Anna Petrovna. They were from the town of Batpky, Belarus. They had three daughters, Helen, Olga, and Mary. Ivan and Anna died of influenza in 1919, in Brooklyn,N.Y.
