The parents of my GGM, Gisela (Kalina) Weisz, lived in Cadca. Her father
was a precentor. She had 15 (?) brothers and sisters. Later, she was
married with Geza Reisz and lived in Vienna. She was deported to Riga
and died there.

Researching: KONTRIK, KAVCAR, KAVCIAR, PUCOLEN
Searching for married name Kontrik, and her maiden name was Maria
Kavcar. That is a great aunt, known her by and the one that should be
used for record searches in Chlebnice. The passport lists the name as
Kavciar. The marriage certificate has it Mary and Peter Kontrik. The
grandmother has the name Mary Pucolen.

Searching for Dorcak, Dorchock. Anna Dorchock came from Slovakia and
then went back to Nova Lubovna, Slovaka around 1908. Anna Dorchock
married Felix Olsavsky (1st Husband, Killed in coal mine) Married Repko
in Nova Lubovna, Slovakia. I read a article from Sandra Peters dated
11/26/98 about Dorcak. Sandra did not leave a e-mail address. I grew up
with the spelling Dorchock. These people lived in Western Pa and Sharon,

Researching: CHORNJAK, CHORNAK, TELEPANICH
Looking for relative in Frankfort IIlinois, was
Grandfather's mothers (Great-grandmother) brother's son named Frank Chornjak.
My grandfather's name was Steve Telepanich.
Last heard of Frank Chornak was in 1950's when grandfather and
great uncle were still living. Frank Chornak Sr was at my mother's
wedding and my grandfather and uncle were still visiting him a couple of
times in Frankfort Illinois. Frank Jr was in the U.S.A. service. I don't
know if it was the army,navy or marines but I know he
was in the service during WWII. Would like to know his address
if possible or where his whereabouts. My grandfather came to Canada with
his brother Mike in 1927. My mother has not heard from Frank Sr (probably
deceased now) or Frank Jr since 1950's.
Frank Sr came from the village of Andrasovci near Seredne now
TransCarpatho Oblast before WWII Czecho-Slovakia (Uzhorod Region).

Researching: NAGY, TOTH
I am searching for information on Paul and Steve Nagy, Kuty they came to
the US about 1892 with their father and another brother. The fathers
name is unknown (the mother died before leaving Hungry) The other
brother's first name is unknown and went by the last name of Nagy. He
stayed in NYC while his brothers went to Brownsville, Pa. to work in the
coal mines. Paul Nagy Kuty married Catherine Toth, she came from Hungry
(1898) when she was 14, Her sister Rose was already here. Steve Nagy
Kuty married Barbara (surname unknown).
We think the surname was Nagy and they came from Kuty. Their name is
written on a baptisim paper Nagy, Kuty. The comma between the names
leads us to believe this. Thanks for your help.

Researching: KOPCSAK, KOPCAK, LIPTAK
I am researching my grandfather John Kopcsak who was born in Bukocz
(Bukovce) Austrian Hungarian Empire 26 Jun 1888. He emigrated to the U.S.
arriving 24 Feb 1907 from Bremen Germany on the "Frankfurt". He married
28 Aug 1911 in Duquesne Pa to Barbara Liptak. He worked for the Carnegie
Steel Company and died in 1918 during the flu epidemic. His wife Barbara
was from Huta, Saros County, Hungary (Fonix-huta or Margecany). They had
four children: Mary Margaret, Michael, Helen Barbara and John J. Mary
was my mother and has died; John and Helen are still living and
Michael was killed at Anzio in W.W.II.
If this ties in to what you are researching I would be pleased to =
exchange information. I have received quite a bit on the Liptak side of
the family but nothing to date on the Kopcak side.

are the only people not in the U.S. I have a birth
certificate of a brother...Place of birth...Teriakovce,

mother...Maria, rodena Petruskova Sabolova,age 32(1906)
Name of infant(Urban Chovanec). Urban's brother,
also Juraj (George) remained there, while my grandmother brought her
children here to the US. They were:Anna, Elizabeth, Mary, Irvin(Urban).
When my own father died in 1954, George(Juraj, the son) was still
living. Urban's birth certificate is the only lead

Spelling of surname today is Kostiz. My grandfather's family was from Barcs, Hungary, which is
now on the border between Hungary and Croatia. They sailed from Fiume in 1912. The spelling
of the surname on the passenger list for the Pannonia was Kosztica. My grandfather's brother
sailed from La Havre, France the same year. The surname spelling on that passenger list was
Kostica. I believe the name is Hungarian. Can anyone verify this?

Researching: ZDRALEK, ODERSKA, SMECZAN
Klemens Felix Zdralek was a medical doctor and sanitary councilor (advisor), born 20 Nov 1860
in Hlucin (son of Franciszek, a tanner, and Jozefa Oderska). He finished high school in Nysa city.
Medical studies were begun in a university in Wroclaw City. He matriculated on 31 Oct 1879. He
got his doctors diploma in 1884. For the next 40 years, he worked in Mikolow City. He was the
chief doctor in Duke of Pszczyna Hospital and a doctor in Boromeuszek Hospital, run by Nuns (a
convent). He was known as a very good diagnostician and a surgeon, and also a social worker. A
lot of patients he treated free of charge, especially the poor ones. The money from the wealthy
ones he would give to charity. For 30 years, he was a member of the municipality of Mikolow

Slovakia. He was born around 1886. He had 2 known brothers John and Frank. He married
Mary Jakubovenszky also from Slovakia. She was born August 17, 1888. Her father was Jozsef
