Researching: CLEMENS
I'm trying to trace the origin of these names.
On the 1920 Indiana Census, they said that they came from Hungary.
Rumor is that maybe they came from Humenne, Slovakia or Czechoslovakia
by Kosice. How can I find out?

Researching: BJES, BEJES, SADLON
My grandfather, Paul Bjes, was born in Kostelne, Nitra on 06 March 1892
and came to America through Ellis Island in the easrly 1900's. The surname
was changed to Bejes because immigration officials thought it would be
easier to pronounce. He settled in Chicago on South Francisco street and
in the 1930's moved to Knoz, Indiana, where he died in 1982. My grandmother,
Anna Sadon was born in Stara Tura, Niyra, on 15 May 1891. She and her
sister, Katherine, came to America around 1907. There were nine other
children in the family and none of them came to America as far as we know.
She married Paul Bejes on 13 January 1917 and they had 5 children.
She passed away in 1959.

I am looking for my grandparents : John Balog Jr.. from Tiscovec, Slovakia
who immigrated to New York on April 14, 1903 from Bremen, Germany. His
parents are listed as John Balog Sr. and Susanna nee: Jankso. There was a
brother who was still in Sloviakia but I do not know his name or if there
were any other brothers and sisters. My grandmother is more of a mystery. I
know she immigrated to New York on Novemeber 30, 1905. Her maiden name was
Mary Daho (Dacho) and her parents names were Andrew Daho and Mary nee:
Stogyak. She was possibly from Muranska Lahota, Czechoslovakia. She married

this marriage occured or anything about Steve Vavrek. There is also a name
listed: Susan Hadak on my grandmother's death certificate as being her mother.

Researching: PARANICH, BARTKO
I am trying to locate any possible relatives
from the old Austia-Hungary area. My greatgrandfather was John(Joannes)
Paranich. I believe he was born in 1879 and lved in the city volykoer
in saros. he the came to America in 1894 or 1895. My greatgrandmother
was the former Susanna Bartko. She was born in 1882 and I think lived
in Dubin????? She then came to America in 1902 to lve with an aunt.
She then married John Paranich (Paranac) I think that same year. They
resided in Japan-Jeddo (near Hazleton, Pa) for a while and then moved to
Oakdale where they lived until they both passed on in 1959. I think
Susan Had a brother John who lived in Drifton at the time. And I am

Researching: PRSEK, PERSCHEK, PERSEK, HELJENEK, SALAT
Are there any Prsek, Perschek, Persek, Heljenek, Salat's out there. My
father's people are said to be from Viszoka, Trencin and had vineyards before
the communists came in. My great grandfather, Emericus Prsek emigrated to the
U.S. around the turn of the century and possibly came through N.Y. on entry.
He was married twice, having twin sons from the first marriage to Anna
Drabik. The second marriage to a Machek and several other children were born
to them. I feel very limited by the language barrier and know little of the
border changes and history of the area so any input you can pass along will
be very much appreciated.
