Researching: FEDOR, LIPKA
The Fedor half was Michael, born @1860, emigrated to USA @1880. From
the town of (phonetically): SHA-SLO-VA (Sasova? NE Slovakia...)
My grandfather remembers them as coming from Moravia, though this is
questionable as the family spoke Slovak and was Greek Orthodox.
I'd appreciate any leads anyone might have, especially on the town.

Researching: HORAZ, HOROSZ, SZUCS, SZERDI, BARNOT,
BARNETTI
Grandfather, Alexander Horosz, born 15 June 1891, to Steve Horosz and
Elizabeth Barnot (Barnetti). Siblings: John, Joseph, Steve, Frank,
Julia. Grandmother, Mary (Maria) Szucs, born 1 Feb 1894. to Janos Szucs and
Borbala Szerdi. Siblings: Helen, Sophie, Elizabeth, Bertha, John,
Alex, Joseph. It's agreed upon by family they were born in the same town in central
Hungary, but there's great discrepancy as to the town's name.
They were married in Hudson Heights, NJ on 14 April 1914. Mary Szucs
arrived in the USA when she was 12 years old, Alexander Horaz followed a
couple of years later. Alexander is known to have or have had three of
four brothers and a sister still in Hungary. Both grandparents have
been deceased for some time, and their children (4 surviving sons out of
seven, and one surviving daughter out of three), don't know too much
about the family history. It was originally believed Mary and Alexander
came from Kecskemet, but the one remaining sister (she's now 80) gave
"family tree" information 12 years ago indicating differently, and she
doesn't seem to want to provide me photocopies of where this information
came from.

Researching: MROSKO, VANSACOVA, VANSUCH, WAUSECH,
FIFICK
My Father was born in Porac, in 1926. He is Byzantine Catholic and would have
attended St. Demetrius Church. His fathers name was Jan (John) Mrosko and
his mothers' name was Katarina Vansacova (Catherine Vansuch). They first
settled in Fayette County and later moved to Youngstown, Ohio. My grandmother
was born in Fayette County, Pa in 1908. On her birth certificate her last
name is listed as Wausech ( Vansac) According to her birth certificate her
parents were born in Hungary. Her father was born in 1866 if his age is
correct on the birth certificate of my grandmother. Her mothers' name was
Mary Fifick and she was born in 1869. I believe this area of Slovakia may
have been part of the Austria-Hungarian Empire and this may account for the
country of birth on my grandmothers birth certificate. I also know my Dads'
brother Nicholas was born in Porac in 1927. I don't know where my
grandparents were married, I do believe it was in Czechoslovakia because my
grandfather wasn't naturalized until 1939 and this was in Fayette County
Pennsylvania. My grandparents and my grandmothers parents are buried in St.
Nicholas Byzantine Cemetary in Campbell, Ohio. If you have any information on
births, marriages and deaths on these surnames I would appreciate the assist.

My Great-grandmother was listed on the 1890 U. S. Census as speaking Polish
and having Austro-Hungrian nationality. I have a mass card that listed her

that time to drop the eastern european "ski" we are not sure what her true
married name was. She lived and died in a small mining community in North Eastern Pennsylvania.
I stopped in at the local Polish Church and according to the people in the
