Researching: DROGULA, DRAGULA
My grandfather's name was Nick Drogula. His father's name was George Drogula and his

He never spoke much about his family, so my father does not know much. I would really
like to find anything out about my ancestors. (My fathers name was misinterpreted when
he enlisted in the navy as DrAgula instead of DrOgula).

Researching: KMENT
My family (Kment) also arrived in New York from Europe during the first
10 years of this century. Me and my older brother have been searching
for any link to our European ancestors but so far we have no leads. I
have the date, vessel and names of all the Kments arriving when my
family arrived in New York. I only know that my father said (and so did
the family immigration papers)that they started their immigration to the
West from Hungary but I was told that Kment is not of Hungarian
origin... and most likely from Slovenia or Czechnia. They sailed Europe
from Bremen, Germany to New York. I have almost given up trying to trace my family starting with my
parents, grand parents and great grandparents. I am now thinking of
just finding the origin of the name Kment, any related village(s) and
going back as far as I can by finding one or more Kment families who
have kept records going back into distant history.
Do you think you might help or refer me to someone who would be able to
assist me in my search? You are welcome to the information I have
regarding the documents and names of the Kments of my ancestory arriving
in New York. Best regards,

Researching: HORHUTZ
Seeking info on my great-grandparents. All we really know is that my
great-grandfather, Peter Horhutz, immigrated from a country on the
Austria-Hungary border. It was during the war, and the borders kept
moving. We think he was escaping from Franz Joseph's army as he was very
reluctant to speak of why he came to America. Peter was married to
Irene, and had three children, John Paul, Libby & Mary (born in USA).
The name Horhutz was altered from its original spelling at Ellis Island,
making this search particularly difficult. Peter said it was changed
because it was too hard for Americans to pronounce. Peter also said he
was not Russian, but Rusyn, but he attended a Russian Orthodox church.
His now elusive passport had the towns of Galicia and Jaslo mentioned.
Can anyone out there enlighten me?

I am searching for any information on my Grandfather George Verba, or
John Fedor (mother's Father). George was from an area in pre WW1
Austria, and near the Republic of Slovakia. He spoke both German and
Slovak. He was a large man in stature 6'-4"+/- and a very intelligent
entrepreneur. He and my Grandmother had 6 children, Andrew, Mary, Susan,
Helan, Elsie, and George. My other Grandfather John Fedor served in some type of "Austrian State
Police" , he apparently had a position of authority because he was
assigned a horse. He was small in stature 5' 6" +/-. He was married to
Suzanne, and they had 4 children, 3 of which survived childhood.
All persons lived in the Pennsylvania area with centers of relatives in
Scranton but with their residence in the south western area near
Pittsburgh. John Fedor apparently entered the US through Louisiana.

either Andrew or John. If you are able to contribute to my information I would like to work

I am researching information on my grandparents Pavol (Paul) Bacha or Bacca,
born 1874 in Jesenov, who married Maria (Mary) Zofchak, born 1884 in Kusin.
The names of the towns have been passed on by family, as well as the dates

changed somewhere along the line to Botchie. My father, Paul Botchie was
born in Piney Fork Ohio, and all of his brothers and sister live in the Ohio
