A performance of "The Chicken Dance," by dancer and former 1950's Mickey Mouse Club Mouseketeer Bobby Burgess along with his offspring.

Bobby is the son-in-law of the late accordionist Myron Floren, both of whom were long-time performers on "The Lawrence Welk Show." Bobby married Kristin Floren, daughter of Myron in 1970 and the couple had four children.

Myron himself provides musical accompaniment after introducing the performance.

This clip has all the classic Welk touch and everyone has that trademark "Welk Smile" on their face. What fun!

With his trademark smile and energy, Bobby was the most recognizable male Mouseketeer.

A Red Team member for all three seasons of the Walt Disney Mickie Mouse Club in the 1950's, he was not only an accomplished and original dancer, but was a good actor and singer as well.

Like all the Mouseketeers except Annette Funicello, Bobby was suddenly thrown out of work when it was decided the show's fourth season would consist of reruns.

Bobby was one of the Mouseketeers chosen to go with Jimmie Dodd to Australia for promotional tours in May 1959 and again in 1960. He finished high school, went on to college, and then, in 1959, created his own job on The Lawrence Welk Show by convincing Mr. Welk he needed a dancing couple on his show.

Bobby stayed with the show, doing his own choreography, until its end in 1982.

Bobby runs his own dance studio in Los Angeles, and has taken part in every Mouseketeer Reunion show, including the 50th Anniversary, where he danced with Sharon Baird.
