Slavic Proverbs

The book, My Mother's Words of Wisdom, is a collection of Slavic proverbs
compiled by Mary Billy Kuhtik.
The book is a combination of Carpatho-Rusyn proverbs gathered both in America and in eastern Europe in a variety of dialects.
For those who long to recapture the wonderful conversations and sayings of friends and family around the kitchen table, this is the book for you.
All proverbs are printed along with an English translation of the verse.
725 proverbs are listed
Art work for the book was done by Sister M. Theodosia O.S.B.M. of Mount Saint Macrina in Uniontown, Pennsylvania.
Proverb #2 was provided by Bishop Jan Hirka of Slovakia.
Mary Kuhtik is among the first generation of the family born in America. Her mother was born 1900 in Slovakia.
It was Mary's purpose to keep alive the wonderful old phrases and sayings that reflect the customs and traditions of the Carpatho-Rusyns.
