Researching: SUROVY
I am looking for this surname, which is the my husbands. We know that his Grandparents and his father were born in Czechoslovakia. We believe the name of the town was Kos Lov (not sure of spelling). His Grandfathers name was Felix Surovy and his Grandmothers name was Mary. His father is Joseph Matthew and has a twin by the name of Walter. Both born in February of 1928.

I am beginning research on Joseph Francis Nemec from Bohemia (Prague) area. He came to the USA in the early 1900s and buried his wife in Kansas before returning to Czech. A son, Joseph F. Nemec stayed in the USA. Any information would be appreciated.

Looking for information on the following: My paternal grandmother: Teresie Repova, who left Lutonin, Moravia in 1903. Teresie's date of birth was 26 October 1881, but I do not know where. Parents were Paul Repa and Annie Ondrasek. Also seeking information of on paternal g-grandparents: Martin Tomastik, Born 2 December 1837. Gravestone said he was from Reketnice, Moravia. The only information I have on his wife is: Anna, born 1 March 1840. Gravestone said she was from Leskovec Moravia. Martin Tomastik, wife Anna, and daughters Rosena, born 4 February, 1861 and Varina, born 23 November, 1863 arrived in Galveston, Texas on 24 December 1867.

Researching: HORKY
I am searching for any information on the Horky side of my family (current or history). This is what I know... My g-grandfather Rudolf (Rudy) Horky was born in Bohemia and immigrated to the U.S. with his parents sometime around 1900. The family resided in NY and then Chicago. Rudolf's mother died when he was very young and his 5 older sisters helped raise him. Rudolf married Harriette Thompson, and they had one son Alfred Rudolf Horkey b. 1922. Unfortunately, I know little else. I would love to find some distant cousins as well as shed some light on the past. Any information or possible connections would be greatly appreciated!

Researching: JURCIK
My great-grandparents, Alois and Anna Jurcik, came to the US from the Zlin area of Moravia. They landed in Galveston in 1908. They had a total of 13 children. 7 being born in Moravia. My grandfather, Charlie Jurcik, born in August of that year, was the first to be born in the US. I, of course, have no problem tracing my roots in the US. I want to trace them in the Czech Republic. Researching: BRUESKE, BUCHRA, CERNY, DRAGOUN, DRENCKHAHN, JAROLIMEK, KIRAL, KUBAT, PECK, PESHON, YAROLIMEK
My grandfather Matej Jarolimek, who changed the spelling of his name to Yarolimek when he and his family was naturalized on 15 Mar 1909, came to Winona county, Minnesota in the Summer/Fall of 1904. His wife, Mary Dragoun, arrived in Winona county in Nov 1904 with her father-in-law Joseph Jarolimek, her seven children, sister Bertha (married name Kiral), and her sister's girlfriend. The family resided in Winona county (Wiscoy Valley, Rupprecht's Valley, town of Rollingstone and the city of Winona) their entire life. There were nine boys (Adolph, Alois, Ben, Ed, Frank, Fred, George, Jerry, Joseph) and five girls (Agnes Peck, Emma Drenckhahn, Marie Jarolimek, Mary Brueske, Rose Peshon) born to the family. All the children were raised in Winona county with the exception of Marie who died in Bohemia (Jablonna/Pribram area) before the family emmigrated. Ancestry surnames (all from Bohemia) prior to my grandparents arrival in the U.S. are: Buchra, Cerny, Kubat & Jarolimek.

I know very little about the Moravec's except that they left Bohiema (part of Austria) in the mid 1800's. They settled in Nebraska around Brainard and Prague. Researching: KVAPIL, DOROTIK
I am interested in the names of Kvapil and Dorotik. Kvapil was the maiden name of my grandmother, whose family was from around Prague (I think.....not too sure....I was told they owned saw mills before the war), and she married a Dorotik. My parents were divorced while I was still very young, so I am not up to speed on the Czech side of my family. Need information on the Albert Novy family who immigrated to the U.S. from Bohemia to New York and Chicago. Albert Novy married Frances Von Albrecht in Chicago. Eric Von Albrecht was a brother to Frances and Mary Von Albrecht Blecha. The Von Albrecht's may have information about Albert Novy. Albert Novy family moved from Chicago, Ill. to Riverside, Iowa about the year 1900 and then later moved to Hallett, Oklahoma and on to Oklahoma City, Okla. The Children of Albert and Frances Novy were James, Ella Spacek Novy, Edward and Theodore. They all lived in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
