Stava born 2-2-1881 in Bruno, NE; son of Jan A. and Josefka (maiden ??). Anna Jakub born 8-24-1884 in Brainard, NE; daughter of Joseph Jakub and Franses Blazek. Bartholomej Codr, born in Hrotovice, Znojmo, Moravia in 1829; married Mary Pribyl (Pribylova ?), born in Hrotovice, Znojmo, Moravia in Nov. 1833. Jan Vyhlidal, born 7-24-1825 in Slavetice, Moravia; married Frantiska Coufal, born 6-15-1830 in Slavetice, Moravia. Josef Gruntorad, born 1834 in Kozohledy, Moravia; married Katerina Zaloudek, born 1839 (area unknown). Jon Ourada, born 1844; married Barbara Raisl, born 1839 (areas unknown). The majority of these relatives came over on the ship Ohio, landing in Baltimore, Maryland on Nov. 11, 1873. Any further information anyone could provide would be greatly appreciated.

I saw a message on the Family History message board which I suggested I come to Family Tree Maker but now I am not sure where to check. My ancestor is John Hanzlick b. 1841-Kamisek, Bohemia, Czechlosavakia with father Johann Hanzlick born in the same place in 1815. John married Ludmilla Eckel b. 1844, the daughter of Johann Eckel and they 2 were born in Kamisek, Bohemia, Czech. Is this any tie to who you are looking for? I am trying to find a location of a Dulue or Dielue cemetery on a map in Czech. Ivan Lomaga, Voj apparently is buried there. It is near Soednik, Czech. We would love to find documentation about our ancestors. They were from Bohemia/Sudetenland, but we do not know which town. My great-great grandfather was Moritz Traubmann. Here is what we know: Moritz Traubmann (b. abt 1810, Bohemia) married Fannie Stern (b. abt 1812, Bohemia). Their son, Moritz Traubmann (b. Nov, 1836, Bohemia) married Jennie Rab (b. 1846, near Prague).

Researching: STRAKA
My grandfather-Karlo Straka lived in Bohemia, in a city-Kostelec nad Orlici,before the Second World War. He was constructional engeneer for reconstruction the roads, and as such he was sent to Bosnia, before the II.-nd w.w. to help the development of infrastructure in that region. He stayed there, married, and settle down in a place called Foca (Focha). He died before the War ends, from pneumonia, unfortunately antibiotics were not discovered then. Any way, my mother(his daughter), would like to make a contact with his family. Kostelec nad Orlici is not a big city, so we hope , we will suceed in getting the oportunity to be in touch with our family. Djekuji moc krat! Looking forward to your early reply.

Researching: GLAUBER, LEDERER
Most of my relatives, descendants of Lazarus Glauber and Anna Lederer and their children Joel, David, Mortiz, died in Treblinka. They came from Weissensulz, now Bela nad Radbuzou, and lived in Prague and Pilsen. I am hoping to find living relatives. My grandfather was Moritz (died in 1910) and Max, his only child, was my father. We lived in Italy during the war. But my father's cousins and their spouses were sent to Treblinka, one to Riga. Researching Klusak, Rambousek, Biolek, Cmolik, and Hudec. Looking for ancestral information on the Klusak and Rambousek families who lived in the village of Heraltice in the late 1800's. I believe their are still relative living there. My Grandmother was Theresa Klusak. She came to the USA around 1910, with her brother Karel Klusak. She married Karel (Charles) Biolek (born in Czechoslovakia) in Emmetsburg IA in 1919 and later settled in Chicago IL. I have no further information on Karel Biolek's family. Anyone who can supply additional information on the Biolek name? Also looking for ancestral information on the Cmolik and Hudec families who lived in Kolvin in the late 1800. Frank & Mary Bruzek’s oldest child Agnes b.31 Dec 1836 Brilice, near Trebon, married 23 Apr 1855 in Dubugue IA fellow immigrant Albert Vrtis b.14 Mar 1827 Utesov, west of Vodnany. The Vrtis family were original settlers of the New Prague area. In 1858 Albert’s brother Thomas, (Wrtisch) wife and children Frank ( Wertish) and Maria came to New Prague MN from Bohemia.. Researching: BOMBA
My grandfather name was William Steven (probably changed when he came to Canada)but people called him Kovi. He lived in Ostrava. He had a sister, Vilma and a brother Frank, we don't beleive that either had children. My father lived in Valsam, near Praha ( can't seem to find it on the map). His name was Vasa Jamir. They left the Czechoslovakia during WWII to come to Canada. This is all I know. It is very possible that my grandfather had other children before he met my grandmother (it was her second marriage). His birth certificate gives the following information: By this excerpt from the birth register book of the Luze Parish, in the village Kosumberek, the below signed testifies that Antonin, the son of Antonin Hladik, cottager in Kosumberek n.5, and of his mother Anna, legitimate daughter of Jan Veselik, cottager in Radim, and his wife Magdalena, the daughter of Vacslav Pavlicek, cottager in Dobokov n.2, was born on the day of February 28th, 1860 (thousand eight hundred sixty) and on the day of February 29th 1860 was baptized by the cooperator Ignat Zelinka, according to the Catholic-Christian rites, in the presence of Godparents: Jan Veselik, cottager in Radim n.11, and Barbora Vejvodova, wife of Frantisek Vejvoda, cottager from Dobokov n.3 and the mid-wife: Josefa Ullmanova from Luze n.57.Parish office in Luze September 6th, 1866. The surname is Jurczak, now spelled Yourchak after coming to America. Mikolaj Jurczak immigrated to Canada originally and then went to America. His American name is Nicholas (Nik) Yourchak. He married to Helen Folvarsky. He has a son who lives in Peirpont, Ohio and it is the same place where Mikolaj settled down. His original place of origin was Weineuka, Sanok, Austria. It must be taken note though that Czechoslovakia was still part of the Austrian Empire until after World War I. The remaining known family is still presumed to live in Canada.

I am researching my family history. My great grandparents are Josef Spacek and Rosalie Kubena. My grandmother Sophie Spacek was born in Bordovice in 10/13/1888 and then they move to Prague. They arrived in Galveston, Texas in 1891 on a ship name the Mayflower. The family settled in Smithville, Tx and was recorded in the 1900 Census in Smithville. My Johna (John) Stika was born approx. 1810-1915 in Bohemia He married Catrina (Katherina) probably in Bohemia it is believed she was born approx. 1815. Their known children were Mary (my great-grandmother) born 2 Feb 1839, Barbara, Katrina, Joseph, Frank, John, & Peter. All said to be born 2 days ox cart journey from Prague. Mary was about 18 years, baby Peter was three. John & Katrina died in Kewaunee County, WI. All the children married in Kewaunee. Mary Stika married Vincent Pavlik in Kewaunee on 20 Jul 1859. Both are buried in Sloven, Kewaunee, WI with my grandmother, Barbara Pavlik Teyssier. Grandma Barbara Pavlick and Francois Teyssier were married in Casco, Kewaunee, WI. She died when dad was 3 years old. Wencel (Vincent) Pavlik/Pavlick with wife Bedina/Berlina_____immigrated to America approx. 1857 with children Joseph, Carl, Wenzel, Anna and Vinzen(Vincent) Wenzel. Vincent (my great grandfather) was born 1836 in Pilsen, Bohemia, he died Dec. 1903 in Kewaunee County, WI. He married Mary Stika/Sticka in WI in 1859. It is believed that all the children of Wencel and Berdina were born in same Bohemian village of Pilsen. Need help on the Boh. records, and anything further in the US.

I am seeking information on my great-grandfather Ignatius Wacha (Vacha) b. Dec 1844 in Bohemia. He immigrated to America in Nov. 1869. He married Barbara Marik in New York. They moved to Michigan. I am anxious to know about other members of his family. In 1869 at least five members of the Marik family immigrated to America. They were from Zebrakov, parish Lasovice, near Milevsko, Tabor, Bohemia. They were Barbara Marik b. 1846, Joseph J. Marik b. 12 Mar 1856 (married Barbara Panka), Mary Marik (she later married Joseph Klika), Frank Marik, and Henry Marik b. 1860 (married Josephine Nedved). Barbara Marik married Ignatius Wacha and moved to Michigan. The others moved to Chicago, Illinois.

Researching: BOCEK, HARMENK
My grandfather was Alois John Bocek, he was born in the small town of Estrancice, Czechoslovakia; around 1885. His fathers name was Vaclav Bocek and his mother was Frances Harmenk. I beleive Estrancice is near Prague. Alois came to America by way of Canada around 1913. He had sisters Rose, Mary, and Bessie. I beleive Bessie married a man Walter Haldik and still lives near Prague. She may be deceased. Grandpa Birth date was April 22, 1885.

Researching: PROVACEK
I am trying to trace our family history. On my father's birth certificate, it shows his mother's name was Anna Provacek. She died when my father was 2 yrs. old in childbirth. Nothing is known about her. Her name is spelled that way. It may be actually spelled different. I don't know. But that name sounds Czech to me. Please anyone who could help me find out anything about her, the name, anything, would be greatly appreciated. She died in 1917 at 21 yrs. of age in Wisconsin.

Researching the Franz Brejcha family from 1860's, Nezamyslice CZ. Franz Brejcha was in the Austrial Army and raised several children in Nezamyslice. Anna was my grandmother.

Researching: BENDA, PTAK
I would like to request any information regarding the surname Benda. My grandfather's last known address was a city called Stoklowicz where they has a farm. They arrived in the United States on July 14, 1901. My grandmother's surname was Ptak. Children arriving with them were Joseph, Josephine, Anna and Barbara. They sailed from Hamburg on the Graf Waldersee. If you can tell me, I would like to know Stoklowicz was or is located. Thank you!

I am the Great Grandchild of immigrants from Czechoslovakia. My parents were both from the Cicero Illinois area ((western suburb of chicago that was well poplulated (at the time) with Czech's)). My family has gone to Czech Republic but they have not found any relatives yet. My Mother's name was Moravec and her mothers name was Petraselka. My fathers name was Kalina and his Mothers name was Novatny. ... My name is Robert Kalina. ...My Mother side was supposedly from Budalovich in Moravia. I am seeking information concerning the Plisch family of Kuttelberg. Gottlieb Plisch emigrated with his wife Karoline GROSS to Marathon county, Wisconsin, USA in the 1840's to 1860's. I have no information about the Plisch line outside the United States and no information about the Gross line at all. Any help would be deeply appreciated.

Researching: DUSEK, MARZA
Looking for wife of Albert H. Dusek, (a shoemaker) born in Iowa on Feb. 12, 1850. Went to California in 1872. Died in Sebastopol, California on Feb. 25, 1923. Death certificate only states that he was widowed. Had two children that I know of: Albert Harry Dusek born Nov. 4, 1892, died in CA Aug. 11, 1940 Russell Dusek born Aug. 12 1894, died in CA Nov. 18, 1928 Russells death certificate reads that his Mother's name was Marza. Do not know if Marza was her first name or last.

Researching: SHULDA, HUNCOVSKY
I am looking for what information I can find on both sides of the family. The Shuldas came from Kohout in the 1860 to homestead in Cuba ,Kansas. This is my mother's side of the family. The Huncovsky's came in the 1860's also from Vratne . First to Manitowoc, Wisconsin then on to Cuba, Kansas in the 1880's. Any information I can get would be appreciated.

Searching for the ancestors of my great grandparents who were born in Bohemia. John Gyhra was born in 1826 in Kotschau (Gottschau), Bohemia, came to America in 1873 with his family and settled in Nebraska. Children were Frank, Wenzl, Anna, Frances, Joseph, Mary, John and Minnie. His wife was Anna Schneider, daughter of Frank Schneider and Elizabeth Hauner, all born in Bohemia. The Melichar family were Adolf and his wife, Teresa Pillat born in Bohemia. They came to America in 1873 and settled in Nebraska. Their daughter, Bertha, was born in Buchau, Bohemia.
