Looking for the ancestors of siblings of Anton Vesely, born 1858 in #1 Picin,
Bohemia. Came to Chicago in 1890 with his wife Marie Rampa Vesely. Marie
was born in 1868 in #67 Picin. Any connections to Marie? My other
grandfather was Jan Obalil, born in 1866 in #473 Cheska Trebova. Can not
find any Obalil's except immediate reletives. None of the siblings
descendents found--any help? His wife was Marie Pirkl Obalil, born in 1872 in

going back to the 1700's if it is of help to any one.
Frantisek Klikar, was from Hradiste Blovice. He was an uncle that married an
aunt I never met--Otttillia Vesely. She died in CZ. in 1926. We sent CARE
packages to Klikar after WWII--than lost track. Any help?

Researching: MIKULICA, FOREJTA, SALTERBACH
My great grandparents were Josef Mikulica and Emilia Forejta (born in
1879 in then Austria). They emigrated to NYC around the turn of the
century. My grandfather was born Edward Mikulica in 1911 and his only
sister was Helen Mikulica born in 1914. They lived in the New York
metropolitan area for most of their youth, but we discovered a postcard
and a passport which puts them together with their mother in
Czechoslovakia in 1923-4, apparently after their father had abandoned
them. The postmark was from Hodonin. The card was written to their
uncle August Salterbach of the Bronx, whose surname my grandfather took
around the age of 18. He and his sister were separated when their
mother died (around 1930) and the last we knew she had moved to Long
Island, studied to be a nurse and was married. He had no contact with
her up to his death in 1975.

history. Two of the sons, Wencel and Anton, were said to have attended Prague

came from Austria? And why do the LDS records say they came from Sebranice,

Have traced this family connection to Prague, Hradec Kralove, Pardubice, Brno, and Olomouc. The family
were millers and/or landowners. The only two names known are Karel (1914 - 1989) and Franticek (possibly
a Prof. of sculptor at Prague University). The family in Brno hid British (Welsh) pilots from POW camps.
Karel Knaifl was a pilot during WW2, stationed in the Midlands, UK. Anything known would be welcome.

also found the spelling as Besta (Hawel, b. about 1630, in Laz, Bohemia, Czech Republic). I'm really not sure

married a Hlobek (sp?). His son, my grandfather, was John Strba, who was born in Nova Lehota, Austria-
Hungary, which could have been the Nova Lhota in the Czech Republic, or one of the Nova Lehotas in
Slovakia. Since Nova Lhota, CR is only a few miles from Myjava, SK, he was probably born in the CR.
How could I contact someone in Myjava who is familiar with the "matriky" there? Who in Myjava could
help me to find any Strbas there ? How could I get a telephone directory listing of Strbas in Myjava? Would
anyone know anyone in Myjava who is on the Internet ? Same questions for Nova Lhota, CR and Nova
