Researching the surname Knoth from Bratelsbrunn (German form), Pratlsbrunn (Czech form) Moravia, between Znojmo and Mikulov. The current name of the town is now Brezi. My 4th and 5th great grandfathers (Karl and Lorenz Knoth respectively) were born there. Karl was born cira. 1770 and Lorenz cira. 1730. Karl was an Austrian soldier and after the war with the French settled in Otterberg, Germany (cira. 1795). One of his sons, Nicholas Knoth, emigrated to the US with his wife and three sons (Charles, Frank, and Henry) in 1852 and settled in Ashland, Ohio. I would like any information on the Knoth family from Brezi, Moravia.
