Researching: MATEJSHEK, SPINDLER
I am looking for information about my Grandfather's family and relatives. My Grandfather, Frank was
born on 10 October 1896. His parents were Johann Matejshek & Marie Spindler. Johann Matejshek was
from Dittersbach, Bohemia and Marie Spindler was from from Liebentahl, Bohemia. Frank moved to the
United States in 1917. He Married Marion Schwelling. Any information you can provide would be greatly

1850 in Caskovic, Czechoslovakia. he married Annie Borek in 1872. Annie Borek was born in 1858 in

Researching: LEDVAK, SAKSA, BARTEK
I am researching my great-grandparents Stephen Ledvak & Juliana Saksa (Saxa) Ledvak. Stephen &
Juliana were from Austro-Hungary. Fr. Jarieus married them in in 1887 or 1888 in St. Joseph's Church,
Bridgeport, CT. Stephen became a naturalized citizen on October 27, 1890 in Bridgeport CT.
Stephen & Julia had eight children, seven of which were born in Bridgeport. The eighth, my grandmother,
Margaret Ledvak McGuire, was born in Scranton PA on August 7, 1911. The other seven were: Helen,
Emanuel (Emil), Stephen, Irene, Julia, Martha & Frances.
Juliana Saksa Ledvak had a younger sister named Mary. Mary married a man with the last name of
Bartek and they settled in Wallingford, CT.
Stephen had an older brother (by 2 years), Andrew, who was also married at St. Joseph's Church in
Bridgeport CT in 1887 or 1888 to Catherina Weresfri by . Fr. Jarieus.
Stephen was a piano-maker & cabinet-maker by trade. He helped build the Holy Family Church in
Scranton PA. He passed away in 1932, in Scranton PA at the age of 66. Juliana passed away in
Scranton in 1960 at the age of 89.

Searching for information on Frank Skalicky (b) Feb.12, 1871 (d) Mar. 15,
1943 (m)Oct. 23, 1894 in Owatanna to Mathilda Pavek (b) Mar. 26, 1878 (d)
Feb. 6, 1943 Witnesses on marriage certificate were Frank Pavek (brother ?)
and Mary Skalicky (sister ?) Frank and Matilda then moved to Chengwtana
Township, Pine County. (Pine City - Beroun Area) Believe a brother John
Skalicky also lived in Owatanna. Father to Frank, John, and Mary (maybe more)
possibly John Skalicky ? may have been married to unknown Matejcek. I don't
know when they came over, but believe the Skalicky's came from Praha,Czech

Researching: DWORSACK, SCHUETTE, SCHELLER
I am looking for information on the background of the DWORSACK family that settled in Macoupin
County, Illinois. Two brothers, John, b. Apr 1865 and Victor, b. 4 Dec 1867 were from Oslavan (sp.
Oslovon on certificate), Moravia, settled in Mt. Olive, Illinois in the 1880's and were miners. They both
d. 5 Dec 1932 in Carlinville, Illinois. John married Johanna Schutte, and Victor married Marie
Scheller. Victor's death certificate indicates that his father was named Wenzel.

Researching: TOMASOVIC, BENEDICTOVIC, SPACKOVA
Researching the above surnames in the village of Dobra Voda, Piestany. Andrej Tomasovic married Maria
Spackova. They had a son, Paul Tomasovic, who married Justyna Benedikovic. They immigrated to the
U.S approximately 1906, possibly through France. They settled in Tarrytown, NY. The name was changed
to Thomas, but I don't know when. Presumably this happened at Ellis Island. Paul had children, Mary,
Gertrude, Josef, Thomas, Stephen and Helen. Any info or leads would be greatly appreciated.

Researching: WARACKA, VARACHA
My name is Eleanor Dorothy Waracka Plucinski, born to John Edward Waracka (Varacha), who was born
October 31, 1908. His family came to the United States in 1920 through Ellis Island, where the name
Varacha was changed to Waracka. My Dad told me that the name Varacha means wooden spoon. The
family lived in Drahovece, Czechslovakia. My cousin, Tom Waracka, went to Drahovece about 2 or 3
years ago and only found one relative who had Alzheimers. No one else was around. Where did they all
go? Can you help me? My Grandfather's name was Thomas Michalek Varacka, born ca. 1880. He worked
in the Quarry in Drahovece. Thomas Rudolph Waracka was my Dad's brother, born in 1906.

I am looking for information on the surname Siegel. My grandmother was Anna Marie Siegel, b. 12-01-
1895 in Moravia. Her mother's name was Rosalia Rasenseifner and her father was Daniel Siegel. Other
members of this family were Maurice Siegel, Alois Siegel and Hilda Siegel. My grandmother immigrated
to the US in 1922 from Mahr-Schonberg, Czechoslovakia. I am also looking for information on Alphonse
Jean, who, when his parents died, were taken in by the Siegels. He married an Anna. His mother's name

Researching the above names and trying to solve a mystery. George Nickolas
Tehova or Tohova was born in Bridgeport, Connecticut in 1907, but his
father's name, Nickolas Tehova or Tohova is stricken and in it's place is
John Miklus. George's mother was Anna Figlar, also born in Bridgeport,
Connecticut. George later changed the spelling of his name to Micklos for
unknown reasons. The nationality of the father is listed as Hungary (also
stricken, so must be for Nickolas Tehova or Tohova). John Miklus and Anna
Figlar list themselves as "Slovish". George Micklos married Mary Kahanec in
1932. Is anyone researching these names and their ancestors? Please email me.

I am researching Urbach from Muehlhausen, Bohemia. This could refer to
Nelahozeves, located north of Prague, or Milevsko, located south of
Prague. It also could refer to the area surrounding either of those
towns. Johann Jacob Urbach was born there about 1737. His wife was
Anna Catharina [maiden name unknown], who was born about 1735. They had
a son, Johann Christian Urbach, born about 1762.

Hi just wondering I'm looking for ancestors by the name of Hamas
(Andrew) and Halivikova Mary These were my Great Grandparents on my moms
side, they came from a town by the name of Habura that I believe is in
upper Czeck Republic. Used to be Hungary. Would like to get in touch

on my moms side. Not finding very much to go by. I live in Alaska so

Researching: KRAL, BERNATSKY
I am trying to find any information on the Thomas Kral family from St.
Paul Minnesota in the mid to late 1800's. He and his wife
Katherine (possibly Bernatsky) were born in Bohemia. My father Harold was
one of their younger children and he was born in 1896 in St. Paul. I
know some of his siblings names--Ted, Arthur, George, Edith, Lillian,
Stella. The next two could possibly be nicknames--Mitt and Lumer. There
were eleven or twelve children and all were born in St. Paul. I do not
know whether my grandparents were born in the USA or Bohemia. My father
always told me that his parents were from Prague. If anyone has any

We am researching my grandparents, Edward Peterschick, from Bohemia, b. 1827, d. 1906, married Anna
Huebsch, b.1829, d. 1888. They had a son, Frank, born in Germany in 1859. They moved to America.
before 1869 living in Alma, Wisconsin. They had Emil, Augusta, Anna and Julia. They left Alma and
moved out to Roselia, WA, sometime before the 1887 census. We heard that, when they came to the USA,
there was 2 brothers or cousins who made the trip with them. Any information would be appreciated on

I am looking for any available information on Frantisek Marsicek. I know he was from Jankor, Bohemia.
He married a woman named Katharina there. The couple had four children there named Anna, Katharina,
Mary, and John before they immigrated in 1956. Three more (Rusena, Franziska, and Antonia) were
born later, after they settled in Casco, Kewaunee Co., WI, US. Frantisek also had a brother, John, who

Researching: LUKACH, LUCAS
I am searching for ancestors or current relatives from Bohemia. My Great Grandfather was Joeseph
Lukach (changed to Lucas), married to Margaret. They had Frank, Tony, Rudolph, Maggie (Margaret)
and George. It appears that there were a few Rudolph's in the family. I hear that most of the records
