Researching: PRASIFKA. PRASIVKA, PROSIFKA, KUPCAK
I am searching for descendents of my Prasifka/Prasivka/Prosifka line. My great grandmother, Marianna Prasifka, born in 1857 in Vlcovice #3, Moravia (the Frydek- Mystek district) married my great grandfather, Valentine KUPCAK in 1881 in Fayette County, Texas. She died in 1933 at Praha, Fayette Co.,Texas and is buried at St. Johns Parish near Schulenburg, Fayette Co., Texas. Marianna's parents were Johann Praschiwka and Rosina Genserova. Johann's parents were Johann Praschiwka and Marina Janczova. Rosina's parents were Fabian Genser and Weronika Janakova. (spellings taken from Marianna's legal application for birth certificate). Marianna Prasifka and Valentin Kupcak had seven daughters: Frances (m. Bartos Pekar), Rosalie (m. Joseph Stryk), Tonie (m. Emil Tobola), Vera (m. Karel Tobola), Josephine (m. Louis Pavlicek), Louise (m. Jerry Krhovjak), and my grandmother, Amalie (m. Frank A. Petter/Petr). They are all now deceased. Documents show Marianna's surname spelled three ways. I wish to invite the descendants of "Mary" Prasifka/Prasivka/Prosifka to our next Kupcak family reunion in April 2002 in Texas. Thank you.

Researching: HERNITSCHEK, SEGL
I am looking for any information about the Hernitschek family. My great grandmother was Mary Hernitschek. She had two sisters, Anna & Frances. They were all born in Gormansberg, Germany. I do know my great grandmother came to Minnesota, before her sisters. Mary was born in 1863. Her death certificate listed her father's name was as Hernacek. She married John B. Segl, (other spellings – Segel, Segle, Or Siegl) in 1888 at St Paul, Minnesota. I cannot find either one of these families. Mary was supposed to have resided in the United States for 57 years until the time of her death in 1933. Her sisters Anna (born in 1866) and Frances came originally to Wisconsin with cousins – surname Pramels. Anna later went to Minnesota to marry Frank (Franz) Poxleitner, from Finsterau, Bayern, Bavaria. Frances returned to Germany and died there in 1947. Any information on the Hernitschek or Segl etc. family would be greatly appreciated. Thanks so much.

I'm especially interested in George since I have no idea where he may have moved. I also would like to find descendents of John Shubert and Barbara Barta Shubert. They lived in Omaha, Nebraska. Researching: MUGRAUER, MUGERAUER, BINDER, TEUTSCH, DRUSCHINN, PREITSTOPF, MEADEN
I am researching the Mugrauer, Mugerauer, Binder, Teutsch or Druschinn, Preitstopf, and Meaden families that came from Christianberg (Krist'anov) Andreasberg (Ondrejov). What I know about them is below. Ferdinand Mugrauer, was born at Christianberg on 29 May 1814. He married Eva Binder (born 20 December 1806, daughter of Mathias and Catherine Binder) at Christianberg (Krist'anov) on 2 May 1837. Ferdinand's father was Sebastian Mugrauer, born about 1774 and died in 1864. On 7 November 1797 at Christianberg, Sebastian married Sophia Teutsch who was born about 1775 and died in 1860. Sophia was the daughter of Sebastian Druschinn and Maria Preitstopf. Sophia's surname was spelled Teutsch on Ferdinand's birth record and Druschinn on her marriage record. My great grandfather, Dismas Mugrauer (or Mugerauer) came from Andreasberg (Ondrejov). From his baptism paper the places are Diocese Budweis, Konigreich Bohmen. He also lived in Baden bei Wien. His first wife was Theresia Meaden. From the pages in his bible: "Dismas Mugrauer gebornan 11 July 1849 in Andreasberg. Vater (can't read the next word) Ferdinand Mugrauer von Christianberg (Krist'anov) und Mutter Eva gebornan Binder." My great-grandfather, Dismas Mugrauer was born 11 July 1849. He married Theresia Meaden in 1874. Someone tried to translate the marriage document and told me she was the daughter of Joseph Meaden. Dismas and Theresia had six children: Dismas, Johanne Edward, Marie, Friedrich A., Joseph, and Frederick A. (2nd) all born in Baden Bei Wein. They had another son named Franz Joseph who was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, in the USA on 27 October 1883. Theresia died the next day. The family must have traveled to the USA between October 1881 when Frederick A. (2nd) was born and October 1883 when Franz Joseph was born. It was said that Dismas paid for part of the trip by being a ship's doctor. That has not been proven. Dismas had two more wives and eleven more children. Only two of his eighteen children were girls. One of them, Anna Elizabeth was my grandmother. Family tradition states that two brothers, Mugerauer, came from Austria to the United States in the early 1880's. One of the brothers, Dismas, stayed in the east and the other made his way to Wisconsin. The tradition also says that the Wisconsin Mugerauer's became sheep-farmers in Abbottsford, Wisconsin, and eventually changed their name to "Adams." In the 1900 Federal Census, there is a Euribus Mugerauer and his family living in Holton, Marathon County of Wisconsin. From BACA, LEO. Czech Immigration Passenger Lists: New York Passenger Lists. Richardson, TX: Author, 1707 Woodcreek, Richardson, TX 75082, 1995. Individual: Eusebius Mugeraner; Place: New York, NY; Year: 1883; Age: 39 Individual: Josepha Mugeraner; Place: New York, NY; Year: 1883; Age: 32 Individual: Johann Mugeraner; Place: New York, NY; Year: 1883; Age: 7 Individual: Alois Mugeraner; Place: New York, NY; Year: 1883; Age: 3 Individual: Franz Mugeraner; Place: New York, NY; Year: 1883; Age: 9 mos I believe the people listed above may be relatives of my great grandfather., Dismas Mugrauer. (or Mugerauer) who came from Andreasberg (Ondrejov).
