Researching: FEDOR, LIPKE
I am researching my great-grandparents, with unfortunately very little to go on. The town they came from is remembered only verbally by my grandfather...phonetically, it would sound like sha-SHLO-va. Czaslova? Saslova? Zaslova? My grandfather believes that the town was in Moravia, close to where the Polish border was in the 1880s. This could be wrong, though, as his family spoke Slovak. I am also checking out the Slovakia genealogy sites. Any help would be appreciated.

Researching: HANKE, GERICH
Reinhard(t) Hanke came to U.S. via Galveston, TX port, with sons Adolph, John, and Moritz. Lebor and Agnes (Bauer) Gerich, and children entered via Galveston, also. Family writings list them as coming from Cronland Marin (grossly misspelled, I'm afraid), in what was Czechoslovakia. Since they entered the U.S. between 1880 and 1883, their immigration papers list Austria, Hungary, and Moravia (in an inconsistent manner, so I'm not sure of this either). Cronland Marin could be Kronland Maehren or something of the sort; however I do not know if their town of origin still exists -- under that name, or at all. They settled first in Cameron, Milam Co., TX, with my ancestors relocating to Coleman Co., TX. Would appreciate any linking information, and will share what info. I have to date.
