Researching: JELINEK, MORAVEC
I am researching the families of Albert Jelenik and Frank Moravec. Albert came to the U.S. in 1894 with his family (father Frank, mother Marie) from the village of Viska, around (I think) Plzen. Originally, the Jelinek family settled in Nebraska, around Verdigre, but moved further south (around Milligan) after Frank's death in 1898. Albert moved to Esbon, Kansas and then to Munden, Kansas. Frank Moravec was also born in Bohemia, came through Iowa, and settled in Jewell County, Kansas. Late in life, he and his wife moved to Munden, Kansas as well.

He died 15 July 1888 in Chippewa Twp., Ohio. His wife Theresia Herz Gleisinger was born 20 February 1841 in Oedenburg, Austria-Hungary and came to America at the same time as her husband. Johann Rziha (or Rhika) emigrated to Odin Kansas from Grunau, Mahren in 1883 with his wife Rosalia (nee Jarmer), and children Aloise, Franz and Josefa. Johann Rziha was born about 1845 and Franz was born about 1874. Franz (Frank) married Mary Koester, daughter of Franz Wilhelm Koester and Teresia Frenzl Kaberna in 1900. Teresia Frenzl was born in Trebau (?) Mahren in 1843 and married Joseph Kaberna before or after emigrating to the United States. They were divorced because of Kaberna's desertion. Josef Vrany was born 1816 in Bohemia. He married Anna Homolkova in 1839. Settling in Kamenne Mosty (small village southeast of Caslav), Josef and Anna had several children including Marie, who in 1872 married Josef Visek from Biskupice. In circa 1885, Josef and Anna Vrany, along with most, if not all, of their children and families (including Josef & Marie Visek) immigrated to Chicago and settled into the Pilsen neighborhood. When Josef Visek died in 1911, his Announcement of Death in Chicago's Denni Hlasatel indicated that he was survived by many, including a brother and sister in Bohemia.

I am searching for ancestors or descendants of Frantisek Vavra (b. 1836) in Biskupice, Movavia and his wife Klara Fukal (b.1837) also in Biskupice. They had five children Marie (b.1868), Frantisek Jr. (b.1871), Anthony (b. 1869), Joseph (b.1875) (my grandfather), and Antonia (b. 1877). The family came to America around 1880. Also looking for info on Frank Knap (b. 1844) in Moravia and his wife Victoria Shada Trozan (b. 1846) in Moravia and her father was a blacksmith. They had nine children one of which was my grandmother, Marie (b. 1877) in Moravia. Her brother Charles (b.1868) is the only family member that we have a town in Moravia as a birthplace--Jercmerice. The family traveled through Germany and Holland for three days before boarding "The Hamburg" for America. They landed in Baltimore, traveled to Chicago, then to Omaha and on to Schuyler, Nebraska where they lived the rest of their life. Most of the family still lives in Nebraska.

Researching: SOKIRKA
I'm in the initial process of researching my family's roots. Depending on whom I ask, Sokirka is either Russian, Slovakian or Czech. My problem is that all the elder members of my family are now gone. If anyone can help, I'd be grateful for their assistance.

Researching: KLIMEK, KONECEK
I am looking for my grandparent's families in what I am now assuming the Czech Republic. My Klimek ancestors were from Brisovice, Bohemia. The Konecek's were from Tesece (sp?) I have just begun my search and I am also looking for any general history information on Bohemia. I am especially interested in maps so I could find these cities. Any information or advise would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Researching: DYBALA
Searching for anyone with surname of Dybala living in the Czech Republic or Poland. Ancestors came from Novy Rozenkov in the late 1890's and settled in Texas (near Fayetteville). Would like to hear from possible 'kinfolks'.

Researching: BOHAC, BOHACEK, CIZEK, ZEMAN JANOUCH, SEDLACEK, DVORAK, KRSKOVA, HLAVACEK, BENES
Frank and Francis Bohac immigrated from Bohemia in 1867 and settled in Crete, Saline County, Nebraska in 1868. Wenzel and Anna Cizek immigrated from Bohemia and settled in Racine County, Wisconsin about 1855. Jacob and Mary Zeman settled in Racine County about 1855. The Bohac (Bohacek) families were from Zamel and Proruby, Bohemia. The Bohacek, Janouch, Sedlacek, Dvorak, Krskova, Hlavacek families all lived around Hradec Kralove (Rychnov nad Kneznou) in Bohemia.
