UNESCO PROJECT ON WORLD HERITAGE EDUCATION

International Project within the curricula of UNESCO's associated schools, through attractive and innovative teaching.

A cross-regional youth project, on world heritage, was established in 1994 with its main aim being to teach young people about the importance of the World Heritage Convention.

Students of UNESCO Associated schools from 30 countries will eventually participate in this project. The Foundation has worked out a schedule of lessons on national and international cultural heritage as a pilot project for Slovakia.

This project will begin in the academic year 1996/97. Several international meetings were organized to discuss the idea of world heritage education: in Bergen, Norway in 1995 and in Dubrovnik, Croatia in 1996, in which members of the Foundation also participated.

Estimated costs: 25 000 $
