This project includes a survey of the structure, documentation and
subsequent reconstruction of the gentry manor house, built in 18th
century in the village of Turik, in the region of Liptov, Central
Slovakia.
It is also an ideal site for workshops and
experience exchanges. The Liptov region abounds in historical
castles, manors and other remarkable monuments. Planned activities
in the renovated house, will, hopefully, also contribute to the
revitalization of the Liptov region.
Estimated costs: 150 000 $
The renovated building would serve the Foundation as a
craft training and information center in order to wake up the
awareness of the cultural heritage in the young people from
Slovakia, but also from other countries - in the sense of
recommendations of the recent report of the World Commission for
Culture and Development.
