Slovak Garden Apartments

Thank you for accessing information about SLOVAK GARDEN a Home for American Slovaks. SLOVAK GARDEN is a non-profit organization providing modest accommodations at a reasonable rate for American Slovaks, 55 years of age and older.

The SLOVAK GARDEN complex consists of 30 apartments, a large community hall for social events, a new outdoor recreation center which includes an 800 square foot heated swimming pool, two shuffleboards, a 16' by 16' screened-in gazebo for evening comfort.

The rental policy effecting all the apartments requires either a minimum one-year lease or a life purchase.

Recently built are four units each having two bedrooms and two baths. They are offered on long term leases or life purchases. SLOVAK GARDEN'S 22 acres of landr affords room for an additional 283 units. Rental contributions begin at $275.00 (Two Hundred Seventy Five Dollars) per month for an efficiency unit, to $450.00 (Four Hundred Fifty Dollars) per month for two bedroom two bath units, plus reasonable monthly utility charges based on the amount used.

The pleasant location of SLOVAK GARDEN on the outskirts of metropolitan Orlando, in Winter Park, places its residents within walking distance from shopping centers and public transportation. Churches of various denominations are nearby. About 30 miles to the south are the world famous entertainment complexes of Disney World, Epcot Center, Sea World, Universal Studios, Wet and Wild, and others.

The world famous Daytona Beach is a mere 60 miles away. Residents observe the launching of space craft right from SLOVAK GARDEN'S "back yard".

Those who are motoring follow I-4 to Route 436 (Semoran Blvd.). Take 436 to the east and continue to Howell Branch Road. At Howell Branch Road, turn east (to the left). SLOVAK GARDEN is a mere 3/l0ths of a mile on the right side.

The SLOVAK GARDEN officer library and museum are situated in the same building as the social hall and is open daily from 8:00 A.M. until 12 noon, weekends and other times by appointment only.
