Kundrat Family Information

Searching for Kundrat, Hrivnak, Filo, Lawrence (Lorenz), Karkoska, and Tomcufcik families.

I'm looking for information on the above Slovak families, that settled in the Cleveland, Ohio area in the early 1900s.

My grandfather, John Kundrat, came to the USA in the early 1900s and married my grandmother, Anna Filo. John had been married and had a family in Slovakia before immigrating here. Anna had also come from Slovakia. They lived in Cleveland, Ohio, on the East side of town, on Crestwood Ave. and later, Alpine St., in the St. Ladislaus parish. Anna and John had 5 children, one of whom was my father, Frank Kundrat, Sr. My name is the same as my father's. I moved to Minnesota from the Cleveland area in 1983.

The other family names listed above were added through intermarriage in the Slovak community of Cleveland in the early 1900s. There are still members of the above families in the Cleveland area, but many have also branched out across the US and elsewhere. Any genealogical information about them, would be greatly appreciated. Thank you. Sincerely,

Thank you.

Sincerely,

Frank J. Kundrat
