Slovak Harmony

 A New Way

The CD A New Way by Slovak Harmony has arrangements of traditional Slovak folk songs with a touch of the Chip Davis (Mannheim Steamroller) influence added to the music.

Founded in 1994, S-Harmony is a group performing Slavic musical compositions set to modern, very authentic arrangements. The members originate from Slovakia, where they had been exposed to music of various ethnic origins, including Slovak, Ukrainian, Czech, Polish, Russian and others -- hence all of S-Harmony's members have close, first-hand ties to the idiosyncrasies of Eastern European cultures.

Juraj Matolak is the founder and director of S-Harmony.

Silvia Matolakova is soloist with Lubos Hrabkovsky on drums and percussion and Otto Zizak on keyboard.

The group plays at many events in the New York, New Jersey, and Pebnnsylvania area.

Songs include Prologue (Cervene Jablcko), Oj na hori, Ej Holose holose, Za Horami, za dolami, Pila ja palunku, Javorom, Javorom, Ponoci bila jedna hodina, Zvalila sa skala, Vez ty zajdu, Veselo se dzivce, A corna, ja so corna, Jak isov ja z Debrecina, Nebudu sia mamko moja, Do Milenkoj, Tenka som ja tenucka, Trencin dolinecka, Neozenim sa ja este, Pilo by sa pilo, Regruti, Ciji to konicky, and Nebudu, pidu dale

Available on CD, this recording, their debut CD, sells for $13.00 plus shipping and handling.
