The folklore ensemble Sarisan was founded in 1967 in the village of Velky,
Saris near the district town of Presov in eastern Slovakia, Its founders
were rank-in-file lovers of folk art and folklore traditions based on authentic
folklore from eastern Slovakia.
The ensemble consists of three groups: the musical group, the singing
group and the dancing group. All three groups work together to foster
the folklore traditions of the Saris region.
This cassette was recorded at Peppermint Productions in Youngstown, Ohio
while the group was on an American tour.
Members performing on this recording are Vincent Fedor (Director), Lubomir
Simsik (Violin), Miroslav Schvarcz (Violin), Peter Silmak (Clarinet),
