Researching: DUSENKA, FENCZIK, HOCMANN
My great grandfather was Jan Dusenka and great grandmother was Maria Fenczik from Kaluza, Slovakia area. Their children were Maria born 1841, Jan born 1851, Anna born 1853, Jazef born 1860 (my grandfather). Jozef Dusenka came to America in the mid 1880's and married Maria Hocmann in St. Louis, Missouri. in 1889.

Researching: MITAS, PAULEC
My grandfather, Joseph Mitas, came to the United States in the late 1800's. I do not know his home-town, but I know he was Slovak. My grandmother, Helen Paulec, came about the same time. Both ended up in Springdale, Pennsylvania. I believe my grandmother came from Brataslava, Slovakia but I am not sure. Any information would be wonderful as all my records stop at the US borders. Researching: KRESAK, KRESZAK, KALKO
My father's family came to America at the beginning of the 20th century and settled in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. They left from Budapest, Hungary, but were originally from Czechoslovakia. My grandfather was Leo Kresak ( Lipot Kreszak). My great grandfather was Andrew Kresak (also spelled Kreszak) married to Irma Kalko. He was supposed to have left a brother in Hungary. Researching: KOVAC, CHNAPKO, SNOVAH, STROKATIS
Family from Vesele, Slovakia at the intersection of 2 rivers. Not sure where this village is located. Matthew Kovac married Apolena Chnapko who apparently died in the old country. Matthew (pronounce Mat-SAY) children came here 1903-1911 Vendel, Stefan and Philomina. Vendel married Alzabeta Snovah (pronounce Snow-haw) who died 1918. She was supposed to be born in Slovakia and her parents were Joe Snovah and Katherine Strokatis. This info from death certs so spelling?

I am looking for information on Kolariks, possibly from Bratislava. My grandfather is Frank/Fabian (8/1908-5/1988). His bothers and sisters are Anton (3/1892-1/1982), Anna (4/1884-1/1982), Mary (6/1894-10/1982) and Rudy/Rudolph. We believe my great grandfather's name was Frank/Fabian and he married Mary Tepala. Researching: SMIHULA
I was reading a notice that was incomplete. It was about Andrew Smihula, who came to the United States with his brother, John. My great grandfather, Andrew Smihula, came to the United States when he was 4 years old in1893. That is as far back as I can go. I would be interested any information before his arrival to the states and would be willing to share the information I have since he arrived here. I did have the privileged to have been able to ride on his shoulders as a little girl. He passed away on 1-15-62. The message was posted in September, 1998.

My name is Rosalyn Ottman Lavasseur. My maternal grandfather's name was Victor Oratch and his father's name was Valentine Oratch. I have found that the family name was spelled Orac when they first came to this country. The farthest back in our family I can find is that my grandfather came as a child to Wisconsin from Winter Quarters, Utah. My great, great, great grandparents came to the United States with their children, I am not sure when but they were grown and married, Joseph Lesho, born 1857, Luzany, Slovakia, married Mary Vargo, born 1865, Sedikart, Slovakia. My great, great grandmother Anna Lesho, born 1884, married John Zoldosh, born 1878. He was her second husband. Before him, she married Joseph Emrich (Emory). Joseph Franklin Prokop Born 1878 In Letomichel (Litomysel?) Czechoslavakia Died July 21, 1953 in Nebraska, USA. Along with his parents, Wesley and Anna Prokop, he migrated to the US in 1890. I am researching the surnames Stunda, Posipanka, Demchak, Cicvak, Valkovc, Lelik, Luhanich, and Balog. I know that Mikhail Stunda-Posipanka and Susan Demchak (probably born c. 1870) had at least three children George, John, and Frank in Lekarovce, Mihalovce county. John (b. 1897 in Lekarovce) married a Mary Cicvak (b. Visokoho) in 1915 in Pottsville, PA. On the other side I have an Andrew Lelik who married who married a Mary Balog.
