Researching: SABOL, SABLE, MATTA, MAGURANE, HROMDKA, ONDREY
I'm looking for John Sabol/Sable. He was born May 2 , 1861 in ? (Minneapolis census records say Austria, Hungary & Slovakland), died March 6, 1944. He immigrated through New York in June of 1880 and applied for naturalization in 1890 thru the Minneapolis court system, at that time disavowing allegiance to Franz-Joseph. His obituary notice says that he had a sister named Anna Matta. Also researching my grandmother, Anna, who emigrated in 1884 from "Austria" by way of Bremen on the SS Elbe, which docked in NY on July 26, 1884. She traveled with 2 children, Anna Ondrej, age 6, and Andreas, age 4. I don't believe these were her children, perhaps siblings or other relatives. She married John Sabol in Minneapolis in 1886. Anna was born on July 8, 1865 and died in Minneapolis on April 10, 1942. She had sisters Veronica Magurane and A. Hromdka and a brother George Ondrey. I can't trace her back to a village. Any ideas?
