Researching: STEFANKO, HUDAK
I am the son of George Stefanko, whose father immigrated to the United States either right after or during the revolution in the early 1900's somewhere around 1916-1918. My grandfather's name was John (Ivan?) Stefanko. I know he and three of his brothers left the old country for the US. The only brothers name I remember was Metro Stefanko, the other two brothers settled in Pennsylvania and I do not know their names. If you know anything of our family history I would love to hear from you about it. I don't know how common the name Stefanko is in the Czech Republic or Slovakia, but it is a very uncommon name here in the US. and most of us are descendant in some way from the four original brothers. I do know that my grandfather was in someone's army during the revolution, but I don't know which one. I remember my grandmother telling stories of when she first saw my grandfather riding into her village on his big white horse and I remember my grandfather talking about the village he came from, but I don't know the names of these villages or towns. I believe my grandmother's family name was Hudak but I am not sure about that. Any help or information you can give me will be greatly appreciated.
