Researching: LANG, SCHLESINGER, SCEINFELD, DAVIDOVICS, GROSSMAN
My father was born Karoly Lang in Studena, Slovakia in 1929 to Lazslo Lang and Anna Schlesinger. He had one brother Imre who was 3 years older. Laszlo owned a general store in Vecseklo, Slovakia. The family, being Jewish, moved to Jardanhaza, Hungary after the Nazis invaded Slovakia. Laszlo was drafted into the Hungarian army in the early 1940's as a labor serviceman and was killed mine-sweeping on the Russian front. Anna, Imre and Karoly (my father) were sent to Auschwitz. It is believed that Anna and Imre perished there. Lazslo had many siblings of which I only know of a few - Martin LANG and Gisella Lang immigrated to the USA; a sister who married a man with the last name Sceinfeld. Anna Schlesinger had 9 siblings of which I only know of a few -- Ilonka, Helen who was married and lived in Jardanhaza, Hungary; Margot who married Farenc Davidovics and moved to Israel with their two daughters; Jolan who married ? Grossman and also moved to Israel; Jenno who served in the Slovakian or Hungarian army. I am looking for anyone who knew of or may be related to this family.

My maternal grandfather, Michael Jastrab, changed his name to Astrab because here in America his cousins moved next door to him with the same name in 1918 and they were getting each other's mail. He came from the village of Padhovyani. His wife, my maternal grandmother, Elizabeth Miterski, came from the town of Trebiso at the same time. They met in New York in the 1880s, married and settled in Bayonne, New Jersey. They had twelve children. Seven of those children did not live past the age of two. My mother was one of the five who survived. My paternal grandfather, John Lukach (Lukatch), came from the village of Shandala in 1886.He settled in Duryea, Pennsylvania and worked all of his life as a coal miner. I don't know my paternal grandmothers first name, but her last name was Lucas. She came from the village of Mali Slivnik.
