Researching: STARZYK, LEMKE, LEMBKE, BRONISLAWA, PAYTON
Franciszek Starzyk and wife Budzik Bronislawa are from Galicia, Poland. Their son immigrated to the U.S through New York, N.Y. 2/11/1900. He sailed on the SS Graf Waldersee from Hamburg. His immigration papers say Josef Starzyk is from Wampierz Austria Galicia. I am looking for any information on the Starzyk-Bronislawa family as we have tracked my great grandfather when he immigrated to the U.S. Nothing is known of his family left behind. The Lemkes, Joseph and Pauline immigrated to the U.S. in 1882. They also landed in New York on Dec. 7, 1882. Lemke could be spelled Lembke. Nothing is known about their family. An Augustyn Lemke married Josef Starzyk and resided in Hammtramic, Michigan all their adult life. My grandmother, Irene Starzyk Payton, their daughter told me many stories as a child: That her father was German and her mother was Polish. There were still cousins in Warsaw, Poland and they would send Christmas gifts and care packages to them. Any info would greatly be apppreciated.

Researching: FRANKOVSKY, TROPIAK, STEFANICK, TRUDNAK
My Grandfather, Joseph Steven Frankovsky (B. 10-26-1887 - D. 4-19-1973), came to the USA from Vel'ka Frankova with his stepbrother, ? Tropiak, at about the age of 16-17. His mothers first husband was ? Frankovsky. He died and she married ? Tropiak. He settled in Throop, PA and worked in the coal mines and married Mary Stefanick (B.1895 - D. 5-12-1980) I have no other information of his life before coming to the USA other than a picture of the church in Vel'ka Frankova where he was supposedly baptized because his fmaily did not approve of his marriage and they never spoke to or about each other. He had 8 children and 12 grandchildren. We are quite a large family and most of us still live in Throop, Olyphant, Montdale, Dickson City......N.E. PA. His Stepbrother' whereabouts are unknown. Mary's parents were Thomas Stefanick and Anna Trudnak and it was believed there families were from the same area as his.

Researching: JANEGA, KOVACIK, KRAJCIK, GODAL, KUBICA
Victor Janega, b. 9 Sept 1928 in Luka n Vahom; his father was Jan (John) Janega, b. 26 Nov 1901 in Nizna, m. 30 Aug 1926 in Luka (?) to Anna Kovacik, b. 8 July 1901 in Luka. Family immigrated to the U.S. in 1933 and settled in Bridgeport CT. John & Anna Janega made frequent visits back to Czechoslovakia in the late 60's and 70's to visit family. When Anna died in 1981, she bequeathed small amounts of money to numerous nieces, nephews, etc. in Luka so I know there were relatives living there as late as 16 years ago. Anna Janega's father was Michal Kovacik and her mother was Zuzana Godal. John Janega's father was Jozef Janega, b. 9 Oct 1870 in Ockov; his mother was Alzbeta Krajcik, b. 2 Sept 1874 in Luka. These people were farmers; immigrated to the U.S. in 1947 and lived with John and Anna in Bridgeport CT. Jozef Janega's father was Juraj Janega and his mother was Katarina Kubica. Victor Janega is my late husband and was always so very proud of his Slovakian heritage. I am researching his side of the family for the benefit of my children and his ancestors. Thanks for this opportunity.
