In addition Slovak Pride will include the coats of arms (enlarged) for the 21 old counties and coats of arms for many historic towns and villages in Slovakia.
It will also have a list of all the "old names" of villages that I found in doing this project along with the current Slovak names - this might be helpful to many.
You will find 25 pages of photos, maps, old engravings, etc. The photos and illustrations are grouped into Eastern, Western, and Central Slovakia pages. The photos include shrines, churches, icons, festivals, and faces of people.
Also included is folk dress from the following counties Liptov, Zemplin, Trencin, Spis, Saris, Gemer, Orava, Zvolen, Novohrad, Tekov, and Abov.
You will see a dozen old engravings or drawings of castles and people, several done over a hundred years ago.
Helene Cincebeaux, editor of Slovak Pride, writes about the project: "This has been a labor of love. If someone had told me how much time it would taken I never would have begun. Fools rush in, etc. Yet now that I can see it almost complete I have a great deal of pride in it."
"The main purposes of Slovak Pride are to honor our ancestors and record their name in print and to reconnect long-lost families both in America and in Slovakia."
"The book will be attractive and will also carry some pages with a map, photos of Slovak people, churches, shrines, the land and the folk dress. It will make a nice Christmas gift."
