The Slovak
Heritage and Folklore Society
International.

The Slovak Heritage and Folklore Society International, founded in 1986 by Helen Cincebeaux and Helen Zemek Baine, provides and shares information on Slovak heritage from history and culture to music, art, folk dress, folk art, customs, crafts, and genealogy.

Slovak Heritage and Folklore Society members receive four issues of Slovakia, A Slovak Heritage Newsletter, a year.

The Slovak Heritage & Folklore Society International takes groups to Slovakia to find long-lost family - we have a 95% success rate. We have developed a letter for our society members and travellers that is a letter in Slovak and English to the Mayor of the village. Sometimes this elicits information on possible living family, if ancestral homesteads standing etc. and sometimes village histories - some people have been invited to 750th anniversaries of the founding of their ancestral home.

This summer we are getting a 3 volume set of books in Slovakia that tell something about every village in the Slovak Republic.
