    2. Stephen Stanislav, son of Stephen Stanislav ( 1 ) and Katherine Kalafut, was born Friday 10 June 1881 in Koterba, Slovakia. He died Saturday 28 October 1950 in Youngstown, Mahoning Co., OH. He was 69 years old at his death. He was married Saturday 20 July 1912 to Anna Bodnovich, born Tuesday 21 July 1891. Anna Bodnovich died at an age of 89 years Sunday 01 February 1981. They were married in Pennsylvania.

    Stephen came to America about 1900 and settled in Elm Grove, Fayette County, Pennsylvania. He had also lived in Campbell (East Youngstown), Mahoning County, Ohio.

    Stephen Stanislav, aged 69, of 578 Roxbury Ave. died of cancer at 6:30 a.m. today at St. Elizabeth Hospital. he had been ill three months.

    Mr. Stanislav was born June 10, 1881, in Koterba, Spiska Zupa, Slovakia, a son of Stephen and Katherine Kalafut Stanislav. He had lived in the U.S. fifty years having come here 34 years ago from Elm Grove, Pa. He was employed at Republic Steel Corporation until he retired in 1948. He was a member of Saint Nicholas Byzantine Catholic Church, Sojedinenija Branch 494 and National Slovak Society Branch 64.

    Mr. Stanislav leaves his wife, the former Anna Bodnovich, whom he married 38 years ago; three sons, Stephen J. and Joseph, both of Youngstown, and Lawrence Stanislav A.N. serving in the Brooklyn Navy Yards; seven daughters; Mrs. Sue Whatley of East Liverpool, Mrs. Ann Riordan of West Springfield, Mass., Mrs. Catherine Rouan of Youngstowm and Misses Mary, Margaret, Julia and Lorretta Stanislav, all at home; three sisters, Mrs, Catherine Volchko of Vanderbilt, Pa., Mrs. Veronica Durshaw and Mrs. Mary Shirilla, both of Campbell, and five grandchildren.

    Funeral services will be held at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Kubina Funeral Home and at 9:00 a.m. at St. Nicholas Greek Catholic Church.. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday and Monday at the funeral home.

    Obituary of Anna Stanislav from the Youngstown Vindicator:

    Mrs. Anna Stanislav, 89, of 732 Roxbury Avenue, died of infirmities at 2:45 p.m. Sunday in Saint Elizabeth Hospital Medical Center, where she had been a patient four days.

    Mrs. Stanislav was born July 21, 1891, in Rudnany, Spisska Nova Ves, Czechoslovakia, a daughter of Andrew and Julia (Vogner) Wagner Bodnovich, and came to Dawson, Pa., in 1906, moving to Campbell in 1916 and Youngstown in 1944. She was a member of Saint Nicholas Byzantine Catholic Church and its Altar and Rosary and Sacred Heart societies, Greek Catholic Union Lodge 824 and National Slovak Society, Assembly 64. Her husband, Stephen, whom she married July 20, 1912, died Oct. 28, 1950.

    She leaves three sons, Stephen of Poland, Joseph of Youngstown and Andrew Larry of New Middletown; seven daughters, Mrs. Margaret Durin, with whom she made her home, Miss Mary Stanislav, Mrs. Sue Whatley, Mrs. Kathryn Rouan, Mrs. Julia Dutko and Mrs. Loretta Mislay, all of Youngstown, and Mrs. Ann Riordon of Springfield, Mass.; 23 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. A brother, Andrew Bodnovich, died in 1978, and a sister, Mrs. Susan Cvengros, died in 1980.

    Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Kubina-Yuhasz Funeral Home and 10:30 a.m. in the church. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home where a prayer service will be held at 7 p.m. The family requests that material tributes take the form of contributions to the church remodelling fund.

    Anna's father, Andrej Bodnovich, was born in 1855 and died on 28 April 1904. She also had brothers, Andrew and John, and sisters, Anna and Julia. As Zuska (Susan) was the only one listed in her obituary, her other four brothers and sisters must have died some time previous to 1981.

    Steve Stanislav, 72, of 2266 Country Club Lane, died of cancer Sunday evening in Saint Elizabeth Hospital Medical Center after a three-year illness.

    Mr. Stanislav was born Jan. 10, 1915, in Elmgrove, Pa., a son of Steve and Anna Bodnovich Stanislav, and came here in 1976 from Campbell. He retired from the shipping department of Republic Steel Corp., where he had worked for 43 years. He was a member of Saint Nicholas Byzantine Catholic Church, its Gold Circle Senior Citizens, its bowling team, and USW Local 1331. He was also a member and Treasurer of Branch 494 of the Greek Catholic Union.

    Besides his wife, the former Mary Uhlar, whom he married June 22, 1940, he leaves three daughters, Mrs. Mary Ann Palusak of Poland, Mrs. Patricia Horvath of Greensboro, N.C., and Mrs. Nancy Polyack of Pittsburgh; six sisters, Mrs. Sue Whatley, Mrs. Margaret Durin, Mrs. Kathryn Rouan, and Mrs. Julia Dutko, all of Youngstown, Mrs. Loretta Mislay of Boardman and Mrs. Ann Riordon of Springfield, Mass.; two brothers, Joseph of Youngstown and Andrew L. of New Middletown, and six grandchildren. A sister, Miss Mary Stanislav, is deceased.

    Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Wasko Funeral Home, Campbell, and at 10:30 a.m. at the church. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home where a parastas service will be at 7 p.m. Tuesday.

    Mr. Nicholas was born Dec. 12, 1905, in Vanderbilt, Pa., a son of John and Veronica Stanislaw Durshaw, moving to Poland from Campbell in 1964. He worked as an electric tube welder at Youngstown Sheet and Tube Company, 35 years, retiring in 1974. He was a member of Saint Nicholas Byzantine Catholic Church and was an Army veteran of World War II.

    He leaves his wife, the former Katherine Harim, whom he married July 13, 1946; four sisters, Mrs. Veronica Tirpack, Miss Katherine and Miss Ann Durshaw, all of Campbell, and Miss Mary Durshaw of Youngstown. A brother, Joseph, died Feb. 8, 1972, and a sister, Mrs. Esther Sisko, died Jan. 19, 1968.

    He was employed by the Aeroquip Corp's Republic Rubber Division in the wire braid department with 36 years of service. He was a member of the church and the United Rubber Workers Local 102.
