Czech Wedding Bridal Song

How may of you remember this song being sung at the mid point of the wedding celebration when the veil was removed from the brides head?

Following this song the bride's veil and the groom's shoes were carried around the hall by the best man and maid of honor and the guests would put in a dollar or more for the honeymoon trip.

        Won't you sing along......

        Na kopecku jest hajecek
        Na kopecku jest hajecek
        Na nem se toci,
        Ma modre oci, sohajicek

        Co's dcerecko, co's delala
        Co's dcerecko, co's delala
        Ze's pred oltarem,
        Pred Bozskou tvari, prisahala

        Vcera's byla maincina
        Vcera's byla maincina
        A dneskaj uz jsi
A dneskaj us jsi, jeho zena

        Vcera's byla (bride's maiden name)
        Vcera's byla (bride's maiden name)
        a dneskaj uz jsi
A dneskaj uz jsi, (groom's last name)

        Vcera's mela bile saty
        Vcera's mela bile saty
        a dneskaj us mas,
A dneskaj us mas, same laty

        Vcera's mela z ruzi venes
        Vcera's mela z ruzi venes
        a dneskaj us mas
A dnesky us mas cerny cepec

        Dej zenichu dej nam piva
        Dej zenichu dej nam piva
        a byste mely,
A byste mely, za rok syna

Za rok syna, za dva dceru
Za rok syna, za dva dceru
        abyste mely,
        Abyste mely hezkou paru

A thanks to Hank Naizer for the Czech lyrics to the bridal song.
